(301d) Towards a General Transport Equation for Mean Age Distribution

There are several formats of transport equations for mean age distribution are discussed in literature, with different method of derivations. The method discussed by Liu and Tilton is connected to the existing residence time distribution method widely taught in chemical engineering corriculum. In this talk, these equations and methods willl first be reviewed. A general transportation for mean age, applicable to transient, multi-species, and multiphase flows will then be discussed.
