HABIT MODIFICATION EFFORTS TO IMPROVE PARTICLE
PROPERTIES OF A PFIZER DRUG CANDIDATE

Designing a process that delivers
API with desired particle attributes (particles size and shape, bulk powder
properties, etc.) directly out of the crystallization makes the drug product
formulation process more robust and less expensive. Habit modification is one of the particle
engineering tools we used to alter crystal morphology (aspect ratio) of a
Pfizer drug molecule that resulted in improved physical properties (bulk
density, FFC etc). This work will
present our habit modification efforts leading to improved particle properties.
