Almost as long as there have been user interfaces, there have been special software systems and tools to help design and implement the user interface software. Many of these tools have demonstrated significant productivity gains for programmers and have become important commercial products. On the other hand, developing interfaces applications is a difficult task; people have to address various common software engineering problems and interfaces-specific issues. To help the developers, a number of patterns have been proposed by the software community. In this work, we have developed interfaces for solving distillation problems in chemical processes. The tool developed help to the professor and student to understand the construction of graphical and shortcut methods for solving distillation problems.
