Degree programs focus on technical content. One review finds only 6% of plant accidents technical in cause. The rest have a culture contributing cause. Process safety culture development and adherence is essential to practice. It must be in undergraduate training. Meeting technical and cultural outcomes results in prepared graduates. Teaching culture requires involving the affective and cognitive domains. This workshop provides a map to meet the highest level of the former: process safety culture as a core value. Activities include setting outcomes, preparing exercises and auditing performance to establish culture so graduates can practice effectively, ethically, and safely.
