TPAD (Temperature Programmed Adsorption & Desorption) system has been developed for evaluating adsorption and desorption behaviors using under 1 g amount of sorbents. In order to control the system temperature precisely, all the equipments, such as fixed bed, pre-heater, 4 ports valve and filters were installed in a temperature programmed oven (Agilent 6890 GC oven). And all the tube lines, valves, and regulators were insulated by heating tapes with temperature controllers. The effect of temperature, feed concentration, retention time and cyclic operation on CO2/N2 and CO2/H2O/N2breakthrough behaviors over PEI-Silica sorbent were studied in a fixed bed with 1/4 inch outside diameter. From the experimental data, adsorption kinetics and equilibrium parameters could be estimated. One of the most important features of TPAD system is that the kinetic and the equilibrium information can be obtained by using very small amount of sorbents (under 1g).
