(477b) Assessment of Dead End Filtration As Screening Tool for Crossflow Filtration of Hanford Tank Wastes

Authors

Geeting, J. - Presenter, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory
Bench Scale testing of Hanford Tank Waste AP-105 and various waste simulants was conducted using a dead-end filter (DEF) and a cross flow filter with the goal of using the DEF to as a screening tool to identify feeds that may blind or have unacceptably low filtration rates using the crossflow filtration method. Six simulants were tested with both low and high filtration rates. Data from the DEF and crossflow filtration methods are presented and compared. Solids from difficult to filter feeds were characterized.
