Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have attracted enormous attention from researchers due to its tremendous chemical and structural diversities, which span a large variety of properties and pore sizes. In the synthesis of ZrMOF-based film/membrane, one of the most significant challenges is achieving full intergrowth between ZrMOF particles to form a continuous compact layer. In this presentation, we will discuss the cause of intergrowth between UiO-66 particles based on a bi-phase synthesis study and present UiO-66 membranes with controllable orientations synthesized in both free-standing and α-Al2O3 supported forms via employing proposed mechanism.
