Hands-on experiences with laboratory and pilot-scale equipment are one of the hallmarks of the undergraduate chemical engineering experience. Lab experiences require significantly more space, infrastructure, and instructional time than do classroom sections or computational studios, and this combined with recent growth in enrollment means labs are getting a hard look at many institutions.

This session focuses on the undergraduate laboratory experience and will present results from the most recent AIChE Survey on Unit Operations lab as well as invited speakers on standard and innovative approaches to this important experience.
