The workshop will address issues related to advising both undergraduate and graduate students. The format will involve a combination of content presentation regarding advising and interactive skits to illustrate typical advisor-student interactions. Undergraduate topics include holding effective office hours, assisting students in selecting an educational program, working with students in academic difficulty, dealing with academic integrity issues, aiding personal growth, using technology, dealing with psychological issues, and serving students with disabilities. Graduate topics include helping students access resources and enabling personal and professional growth.
