An overview of our recent efforts to prepare MOF-based membranes and catalysts and comparisons of their performance with zeolites will be presented. Examples include (i) the use of zeolite and MOF-nanosheets for the preparation of selective membranes and (ii) sugar isomerization performance of modified MOF catalysts and Lewis acidic zeolites.
