(188as) Towards the In Vivo Biosynthesis of Psilocybe Natural Products

The recent advancements towards the elucidation of the natural biosynthetic route to the hallucinogenic natural product, Psilocybin, and its subsequent in vitro biosynthesis has opened the door for its heterologous in vivo biosynthesis. Here, we present our progress towards the development of a modular biosynthetic route in the model microbes, Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Efforts to improve pathway performance through transcriptional, translational, and induction conditions optimization will also be presented.
