(226g) Haifeng Power Plant CO2 Capture Demo Unit

Membrane Technology has been identified as the second generation technology for CO2 capture from coal fired power plant flue gas. Compared with conventional solvent absorption technology, CO2 capture with membrane process showed a number of advantages. Recently MTR’s membrane CO2 capture technology has been selected for demonstration at Haifeng Coal Power Plant test platform. A three-stage membrane unit was used to produce more than 95% purity CO2 which will be further treated at a CPU next the membrane unit. The CO2 product will be used in several different ways. This demonstration unit will be the biggest one in Asia. In this paper, an overview about this demonstration project will be presented.
