Continuous processing in biopharmaceutical industry could be very well enabled by the appropriate application of continuous membrane technology, which has been used in its limited capacity.

The presentation will focus on the appropriate membrane selection and associated process design to not only the removal of the inorganic salts but also the undesired solvent and/or reagents. It will also delve in the engineering methodology to develop a membrane process and touch upon scale-up considerations and challenges for successful technology implementation in a cGMP chemical pilot plant setting.
