The economic evaluation of the integrated liquefaction and natural gas liquids (NGL) recovery process for the lean feed is required to meet recent increasing demand for lean gas reservoirs. This paper performs economic analysis for the conventional co-production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and NGL process compared to the proposed simplified integrated process with consideration of the LNG higher heating value (HHV) specification under the lean feed condition. The dual mixed refrigerant (DMR) cycle was selected for liquefaction part due to high efficiency reported by previous studies. The schemes were built by Aspen HYSYS commercial software and the object function was optimized with a genetic algorithm (GA). The results show that the simplified integrated process has economic advantages compared to the conventional integrated scheme under the lean feed composition, which shows different results in terms of previous studies conducted by normal or rich feed condition. Additionally, the capital cost can be reduced remarkably by simplifying NGL recovery section with almost no loss of liquefaction efficiency in the proposed simplified integrated process.
