This session will include presentation and a panel on how to best attract, engage and include LGBTQ+ engineers into your workplace, department or classroom. Strategies will be given for allies of the LGBTQ+ community to better support their colleagues and influence the overall climate. Topics include basic LGBTQ+ terminology, managing bias and microaggressions, introduction of intersectionality and more. The panel features perspectives and experiences from leaders in industry and academia.
