In this research, a micromixer with a circulator was designed to dissolve the D-7-ACA powder, and the solution was used to produce DCC, an important intermediate for cefuroxime. The lye was dispersed into fine droplets through the membrane structure and then added to the D-7-ACA mixture, and was strongly mixed in the channel; at the same time, the circulator was designed to extend the reaction time to reduce the rate of alkali addition. The results show that the concentration of the D-7-ACA solution is about 79.30 mg/mL, the target product DCC yield is about 95%, which was increased by 10.67%, 9.80%, respectively, compared to conventional reactor dissolution. Moreover, the dissolution time is reduced from the original 4 hours to 2 hours, and paralleling multiple micromixers can further reduce time. The micromixer with a circulator provides a good choice for industrially dissolving pH-sensitive drugs.
