The first day walking into the class room as a teaching assistant can be scary, but with the right preparation, you can be successful in the classroom. There are a few steps that you can take to make your first week of classes as painless as possible. This can include talking to your instructor to negotiate your role in the classroom, understanding the tools available to you, and learning how to gain confidence and rapport with your students. In this workshop, you will learn how to navigate all of these obstacles and how to successfully ensure that you will have a productive and successful semester as a TA. You will be able to meet your developmental goals, be an asset to your instructor, and be a proponent for student success.
