The solid-liquid mixtures studied in this study are o-chlorobromobenzene and p-chlorobromobenzene, as well as some small amounts of solvents and impurities. Currently, two substances are organic synthesis intermediates. There is no relevant literature report on the separation of the two substances.
Since the two substances are isomers, the physicochemical properties are very similar, but the melting points are different. Therefore, in this study, the crystalline product with higher purity can be obtained by melt crystallization. The separation is carried out by two methods: suspension melting crystallization and layer melting crystallization. The crystal growth process, growth mode, crystal morphology are obviously different, and two crystal products of different particle sizes and shapes can be obtained respectively. Therefore, by changing the crystallization process conditions, the morphology growth process and particle size distribution of the crystals were separately studied.
