(403a) A Perspective on Teaching Process Safety through the Curriculum

It is important to properly place process safety topics in the chemical engineering curriculum to emphasize the importance of the topic and to introduce students to the key concepts. One of the best approaches, in principle, is to cover chemical process safety topics in most, if not all, core courses in the curriculum. In this paper, we will discuss the pros and cons, as well as give example of how this might be accomplished.
