(405c) Development of High Performance Composites Using Recycled Materials

The purpose of the work is to develop and characterize high performance polymer matrix composites using recycled materials that otherwise are sent to landfills. Recycled polymer and recycled fibers are blended and molded to form a composite that possesses both high specific modulus and specific strength. Preliminary result of mechanical tests and thermomechanical analysis on the high performance composite material are presented.
