(415d) Examining the Impact of Dispersity on Functional Polymers

Synthetic oligomers and polymers with precisely programmed structures and functions offer unparalleled opportunities for preparing next-generation materials with precisely tunable performance, processing parameters, and morphological features. While the preparation of such materials has been a grand challenge, recent scalable routes to discrete synthetic polymers opened pathways to make new materials having precise functions that should impact myriad fundamental studies and technological applications. In this talk the use of discrete oligomers and precision blends to study the properties of multicomponent materials will be discussed.
