(650b) Quantifying Nanoparticle Delivery to Solid Tumors at the Cellular Level

In this presentation, we will explore interactions of engineered nanoparticles within the tumor microenvironment. Using quantitative analytical techniques, such as flow cytometry and inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry, we determined the delivery of systemically administered nanoparticles to individual tumor cell populations. Our results revealed that non-cancerous cells, such as tumor associated macrophages, represent biological barriers to efficient nanoparticle delivery to cancer cells in solid tumors.
