It is always a great challenge to prepare ultrathin, molecular sieving membranes to realize high permeance and selectivity in the separation field. Recently, two-dimensional materials, with nanometer-thick and high length/thick ratio, provide an effective pathway to maximize the membrane throughput and break the traditional trade-off limitation of membrane-based separation. Herein, we present an ultrathin MOF/zeolite membrane with a thickness of less than 200 nm, resulting in high gas permeation flux and excellent selectivity. What’s more, organic-inorganic MOF exhibits an important role in the improvement of the membrane separation performance.
