It has been demonstrated that the powder properties of API including flow-ability, bulk density, and compaction can be significantly improved via dry coating. These results have been explained theoretically in terms of surface coverage area and surface energy. However, this approach has not been demonstrated on high aspect ratio needle-shaped APIs. The primary purpose of this work is to conduct a systematic study on the impact of dry coating on the powder properties of needle-shaped APIs.
