Bioprinting of Scaffolds, Tissues, and Organs

Chair(s)

Guvendiren, M., New Jersey Institute of Technology

Co-chair(s)

Aguado, B., Northwestern University
Xu, X., New Jersey Institute of Technology

3D printing is becoming widely investigated to fabricate cell-laden constructs, tissue and organs mimetics, and medical devices. Despite this interest, limited progress has been made to move this technology to clinical. This is mainly due to the lack of progress in development of novel bioprinting approaches and bioinks to create self-supporting structures with relevant scales. This session will focus on novel approaches and ink materials in 3D bioprinting for medical applications. Graduate Students: By applying to this session you may be eligible for the Biomaterials Graduate Student Award Session established to honor the best graduate student submissions through recognition and cash awards. See the session titled 'Biomaterials: Graduate Student Award Session' for details.
