Woman Chemical Engineers: Managing to Retain Them

Co-chair(s)

Bryant, D., Syngenta
Warren, Q., Engineering Research Consulting

Over 40% of highly skilled women who enter the field of engineering end up leaving it. This could be due to a variety of factors including hostile work environments, poor workplace flexibility, and lack of advancement. All of these and more result in women moving to other fields or staying at home, despite their personal ambitions. In this session, women who have left or remained in the workforce will share their experiences and present tools and solutions to help other women navigate difficult workplace environments. The session will also explore how companies can attract and retain women engineers.
