(112g) Happy 30th B’day PTF: A personal perspective on its international reach

For 25 years I have had the pleasure to benefit from the PTF’s community, grow with it, and serve it in various roles, while being in academic positions from TU Delft in the Netherlands (1998-2006) to Rensselaer in the USA (2006-2012) and UCL in the UK now, with particle technology related collaborations in other countries and continents. Through the lens of one of the AIChE Inter national Committee’s founding members, I will discuss the importance of the PTF from an international perspective, as the PTF has always been uniquely welcoming and embracing international participation. It has been an inclusive home for particle technology’s academic and industrial researchers and practitioners from around the world, at any stage of their career, especially through the events at the AIChE annual meeting with global participation. This has led to important exchanges that have shaped our field, but also social interactions that have given the PTF a human face. At 30 years young, the PTF is thriving as the global home for the particle technology community.
