(112i) Particle Technology:  Reflection from Canadian Activities

Authors

Zhu, J. - Presenter, The University of Western Ontario
This presentation will discuss some examples in particle science and engineering activities that are currently taking place in Canada and will reflect on the past, present, and future endeavors in the research and technology development in this field. Many research and development activities in Canada are directly associated with its vast nature resources, including tar sands, oil shale, and biomass with particle technology being their enabling technology for its commercial success. Academic and industrial interaction has been an important part of these efforts. Some examples surrounding the prolific interactions of researchers between Canadian organizations and the AIChE Particle Technology Forum on education and research in the field will be presented.
