3D Printing Novel Methods and Applications

3D printing of composites and metal have been increasingly adopted to bring resilience and flexibility to end-use part production across industries. The adoption is being catalyzed by advances in part performance and reliability, together with emerging platforms enabling part design and qualification. This presentation will highlight a few recent developments in the Markforged ecosystem that further empower FFF (fused filament fabrication) technologies for industrial production. The examples include aerospace qualification of continuous fiber reinforced materials, novel co-parts design for isotropy, prescriptive simulations, and pushing performance boundaries with metal matrix composites.
