(266c) My Generalist Career in the Specialized Field of Coating Process Development

I’ll present my career progression from undergraduate degrees in Chemical Engineering (B.Ch.E.) & Chemistry (B.S.) to today. Along the way I’ll share key developments across a broad range of projects that highlight my journey as a generalist in the specialized field of coating process research and development. I’ll highlight some unique aspects of being a process-focused engineer in a material-focused world, and how asking key questions, focusing on fundamentals, and contributing to a culture of learning, sharing, collaboration, and support has helped me achieve technical success. I also hope to share my personal experiences in navigating developing expertise without a Ph.D.
