(277c) High CO2 conversion to CO Using Reverse Water Gas Shift at Ultra-High Temperatures

Dimensional Energy has developed proprietary catalysts and reactor systems for high conversion of CO2 + H2 to CO + H2O using the Reverse Water Gas Shift (RWGS) reaction. The output gas mixture can be utilized as a source of syngas (CO + H2) for downstream production of hydrocarbon products such alcohols or Fischer-Tropsch paraffins. This sustainable hydrocarbon formation is a Power-to-Liquids process where CO2, water, and electricity are the only inputs. Utilizing ultra-high temperature ceramic reactors and optimized catalysts, CO2 conversions were obtained of ~75%. Catalyst selectivities near 100% were obtained, and the syngas outputs were capable of being directly input into a Fischer-Tropsch reactor. The 100 kg per day CO2 pilot experiment shows the scalability of the reactor system. Results will be presented for the chemical reactor and integrated pilot plant with Fischer Tropsch.
