Research Interests: Material ScienceThis work is a tribute to pursuing the fast-dissolving property of Fenamates, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, to encounter a green and sustainable route to participate in the Fast Drug Delivery Systems (FDDS). Hydrophilic Cellulose Acetate based biopolymer was infused with Fenamates precursor (1: 0.1) to prepare fast-dissolving Carbon Nanofibers (CNFs) by conventional electrospinning route. Interestingly, acetone (99%) and DMF (1%) were used as the solvent while preparing the high surface area, beads-free Fenamates/CNFs. The SEM images confirmed that the prepared nanofibers exhibited uniform and 3D tube-like morphology without forming any unwanted beads. The inclusion of Fenamates in CNFs was confirmed and analyzed through TGA, DSC, Raman, and FTIR studies. XRD analysis revealed that the increased crystallinity of Fenamates/CNFs was observed due to the formation of intermolecular hydrogen bonds. Moreover, the Ultra-fast dissolution property of Fenamates/CNFs was identified using a UV/Visible spectrometer by dissolving them in a phosphate buffer (pH = 7.4) solution, which clearly showed that the encapsulation of drugs onto CNFs provides a promising carrier to be used in FDDS in future that would bring a new era in the pharmaceutical drug formulation methods.
