Research Interests: My research interest is to develop affordable biotherapeutics using various recombinant hosts, the investigation of effective ways to utilize bio contained organism for designing live biotherapeutics and biocatalysis. My dissertation research focused on developing upstream bioprocessing strategies, product recovery, and characterization of diverse biotherapeutics, whereas my postdoctoral research focused on bio catalysis and biocontainment benefits. My earlier expertise with an inter-disciplinary approach, I feel, will enable technology-driven healthcare. My research agenda as a faculty member will combine principles from molecular biology, strain engineering, bioprocess, bio catalysis, and analytical chemistry to acquire insights into the following subtopics: (1) Development of novel upstream process strategy for biotherapeutic production: designing biosimilar, biobetter and live biotherapeutics for affordable and accessible healthcare. (2) Advocating continuous bioprocessing and implementing plant-wide control schemes by utilizing advanced online monitoring tool and concepts, (3) Biocatlysis to upcycle biomass and plastic waste. By addressing these topics, I aim is to develop safe, effective, and affordable biotherapeutics while also promoting environmental sustainability through biocatalysis, contributing to both human health and the environment.

My educational and research experience qualifies me to teach courses in Biotechnology such as Recombinant DNA technology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Enzyme Engineering, Bioprocessing and Bioseparations, Unit operations, Bioanalytical, Techniques, Bioreactor design and control, Microbial biotechnology, Biopharmaceutics, Animal cell culture, Biophysical Chemistry, Proteomics-Principles & Techniques.
