In this study, three types of syngas fuel (CO: 25 vol% + H2: 75 vol%, CO: 50 vol% + H2: 50 vol%, CO: 75 vol% + H2: 25 vol%) were supplied to a small gas engine, and the optimum fuel composition, maximum mixing ratio of syngas and exhaust gas characteristics (i.e, NOx, CO emission etc.) were investigated. As a result, (1) the maximum mixing ratio of syngas increased as the H2 ratio in syngas composition increased, (2) the NOx emission increased and the CO emission decreased as the syngas supplied.
