(483c) Imagine This a Tribute to Bipin Vora on His 80th Birthday

In his decades-long career with UOP, Bipin has been one of the most inventive and entrepreneurial Chemical Engineers in the company’s history. He didn’t just come up with great ideas, he advocated for getting them developed and drove them to be commercially proven. His efforts have had seminal and long lasting impact across several industries: clean fuels, bio-degradable detergents (Detal^TM, DeFine^TM), , on-purpose production of propylene (Oleflex^TM) and methanol to olefins (Advanced MTO^TM) – to name a few. This presentation will highlight some of his key technical accomplishments, the worldwide recognition he has achieved, and the impact he has had on the lives of young future scientists and engineers around the world.
