Bionanotechnology for Gene and Drug Delivery

Co-chair(s)

Lee, J. Y., University of Cincinnati
Zierden, H., Johns Hopkins University

This session focuses on the design and development of nanomaterials or nanodevices that deliver drugs and genes for biomedical applications. Drugs can be small molecules or biologics such as nucleic acids or proteins. Topics may include but are not limited to: novel material/device design, size effects on gene and drug release kinetics and transport, interactions with biological barriers and the immune system, cellular uptake, and efficacy of materials and devices.
