The decarbonization of the chemical industry is of urgent need to address climate change and global carbon emission regulations. The decarbonization of the chemical industry through electrification with renewable energy is cross-cutting. In this sub-topical, electrified processes for decarbonization of the chemical industry will be presented. Systems level analyses for electrified processes such as electrified reactions and separations, design of new processes, grid integration and policy factors will be included. Process intensification aspects are welcomed. Both the analysis of processes and development of new methodologies to quantify decarbonization and electrification of the chemical industry will be considered.
