CAREER DAY AT THE CHEMSHOW
Tuesday, December 10th - Tour the ChemShow exhibits (throughout the day) and get Career Insights with a early afternoon Special Presentation (1-3 pm)
Students from the engineering schools in the Northeast region are invited to learn about the experiences of practicing young engineers from different business sectors. Keynote address by Executive Recruiter Jess Stinson, Senior Consultant, Executive Search at Century Associates, will speak on “Career Insider Trading – Insights on Getting the Best Return on your Job Search Investment”. Times: 1-3 pm.
In addition, students will have an opportunity to tour the exhibits of the ChemShow at no cost. This will allow you to see the equipment and products that you are now studying in school and to meet with engineers in many fields and of all ages and experiences. Tour the ChemShow 10 am - 1 pm, and/or 3 - 5 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 10th. Also, you can attend the ChemShow on Wednesday (12/11) and Thursday (12/12).

The focus of this keynote address will be on how to help new graduates overcome the challenges of finding their first job. Our discussion will include the full life-cycle of action to finding a job, including how to get a foot in the door for an initial interview, preparing with the “Adverbs of Interviewing” and other keys insights to making the meeting count. There will be a discussion on resumes including tips on how to make you appear more marketable on paper and NOT get lost in the crowd of resumes that HR and Hiring Managers are viewing. (Stay tuned to find out some “industry secrets” to get that job!).
Bio: Jess Stinson, Senior Consultant, Executive Search
Jess has been in Retained and Contingency Search for more than 14 years, primarily focusing on manufacturing in the Specialty Chemical, Oil & Gas, Metals/Plastics, Medical Device, Microelectronics, and Advanced Materials arenas. Her successes in these industries are in R&D, Procurement, Manufacturing / Engineering, Quality, and Business Development and span all levels from Engineer to CEO.
Jess has degrees in Mathematics and Economics. She is a member in good standing of the Society of Plastics Engineers, American Society for Quality, the American Chemical Society, and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
