The 6th AIChE/SPE Joint Workshop (2011)
General Program
Session Seven: Multiphase Flow II
Wednesday, September 28, 2011 - 1:45pm to 2:45pm
With increasing complexities to ensure safe and reliable transport of hydrocarbon between production to collection and processing points, detail engineering analysis including 2D-3D and transient simulations increasingly complement the current modeling capabilities for flow assurance. The applications include a range of physics including multiphase flows, heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics, phase change, structural integrity, electromagnetic and thermal analysis. In this presentation, we will review modeling of several flow assurance issues such as wax and hydrates, hydrodynamic and terrain slugging, gas lift, water and sand management, erosion, and hydrate melting to illustrate the use of ANSYS engineering simulation solution to flow assurance.
