Session Two: Fluid Properties and Phase Behavior
Tuesday, September 27, 2011 - 10:30am to 12:30pm
One of the key uses of equations of state in E&P is for the evaluation of key fluid properties related to molar volume and viscosity. For reservoir these two variables are important for conversion of simulation tools that operate in moles and the petroleum industry that operates on volume. Viscosity is important for resistance to fluid flow and pressure performance in reservoirs. Even correlations for properties like IFT depend on density prediction. This talk will discuss how properties are calculated and the correlations that are typically used. The talk will also discuss the shortcomings of current practices and make recommendations for the future.
