Fluidised bed mixer offers the most efficient and economical process compared to other mixers. However, less effort has been devoted to understanding the local behaviour of solids in fluidized bed, partly due to lack of reliable experimental methods. Quantification of solids flow pattern and solids mixing is essential for proper design and scale-up of fluidised beds. The basic mechanism of solid mixing in bubbling fluidised bed is well understood but it is still not generally developed to predict the effect of operating parameters on the degree of mixing in a fluidised bed. Due to the objectives of this paper is to view the local mixing behavior and property of a free flow polymer binary mixture in bubbling fluidized bed.
