Based on the studies on mechanisms of alumina trihydrate precipitation process from high concentrated sodium aluminate solution, a particle size distribution model including nucleation crystal growth and agglomeration process of alumina trihydrate precipitation was constructed. the method of moments in crystal size coordinates was used to solve the population balance equations. The parameters of the nucleation rate (B0 ), growth rate (G), and agglomeration kernel (β) were calculated by the method, the influence of reaction conditions on the parameters was also studied. The results predicted by model is compared to the data obtained by experiments, the model prediction are fit well with experimental detection.
