Regulations on the sulfur content of gasoline and diesel have driven focus and improvement in catalysis for units directly producing finished fuels. Refineries rely on desulfurization units that prepare feeds for refinery processes that directly produce finished fuels and as a result influence finished fuel properties and refinery environmental compliance. Criterion has recently completed R&D programs specifically focused on enhancing desulfurization and denitrification capabilities of FCC feed desulfurization units. The result of this effort has led to the extension of the ASCENT product line that previously had been utilized to improve ULSD catalysis performance. We will be covering the fundamentals of the new catalyst technology and will demonstrate its integrated benefit within the refinery.
