Experimental observations on the effect of vibrating internals such as helical springs on bubble size and bubble holdup in bubble columns using dynamic gas disengagement technique is presented. A bimodal distribution of bubble size is observed. Increase in total bubble holdup (sum of small and large bubble holdups) upto 140% is observed by using vibrating helical spring internals in bubble columns compared to bubble columns without internals. Sauter mean bubble diameter estimated is around 0.3 cm for bubble columns with and without vibrating spring internals.
