GTC has developed a revolutionary purification process to improve the purified terephthalic acid (PTA) manufacturing process. GTC is working with the DOE to verify this technology at pilot scale. This development is based on a low-temperature and low-pressure crystallization method, using a highly selective organic solvent. This solvent is non-toxic, environmentally preferred, thermally stable, non-corrosive, non-reactive, and commercially available.
