The U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and Kreido Laboratories have established a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) collaboration, to develop and commercialize green and sustainable chemistries in the area of industrial chemical synthesis. Utilizing the patented and proprietary STT® reactor technology designed and developed by Kreido Laboratories, the STT® reactor utilizes process intensification techniques to increase the rate, yield, and selectivity of chemical reactions used in producing commercially important materials. The USEPA has broad experience and expertise in designing and developing environmentally friendly chemical processes which can lead to the implementation of green and sustainable reaction chemistries. This collaborative effort has lead to the development of reaction chemistries in the areas of oxidation, hydrogenations and esterifications. Current research results and the benefits observed by these new green and sustainable chemistries in this novel reactor will be presented.
