Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) for power generation is an advanced technology that has attracted considerable interest to meet the growing demands for electricity. This technology is also very attractive for the capture of carbon dioxide to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and is the cornerstone of the Department of Energy’s FutureGen project. This session will focus on commercial IGCC applications and projects, applications of IGCC to a carbon-constrained environment, advanced technologies to reduce capital and O&M costs and improve thermal efficiency, and the co-production of electricity and fuels and/or chemicals.
