A new mechanism and process of simultaneous desulfurization and denitrification from flue gas by using TiO2 potocatalysis were proposed. The influence factors on the efficiencies of simultaneous desulfurization and denitrification were studied. After the optimal values of the concentration of O2 in flue gas,the relative humidity of flue gas, and the irradiation time in the photocatalysis reactor were used, the efficiencies of removal for SO2 and NO can be achieved 98% and 67% respectively. The mechanism of SO2 and NO removal by TiO2 photocatlysis is that SO2 is partly oxidized to SO3, most of NO is oxidized to NO3 and NO2,these oxidation products are removed by resorbing.
