Raschig Super-Pak is a new generation of structured packing with a novel surface geometry. Raschig Super-Pak enables, to an extent never known before, high separation efficiency and high loading capacity while keeping the pressure drop extremely small. This structured packing is fundamentally different to the standard and high capacity corrugated sheet metal structured packings that have dominated the market over the past 30 years. Raschig Super-Pak has an open structure such that vapor-liquid traffic can flow freely within a packing element and no sharp directional changes are existing at the layer interface. The rows of sinusoidal waves within vertical packing sheets are surface enhanced to encourage greater turbulent radial spread of thin liquid film flows on the front and back of the waves on each sheet within an element. New test results will be presented and the performance will be compared to existing geometries on the market.
