Plant Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: The Chemist and Engineer Working Together
Monday, April 7, 2008 - 3:45pm to 4:10pm
Chemists drive the development of new molecules, but the transition from bench to plant will make or break a project. When a toll processor is used to prove out the process or to get to market sooner, the production scale-up can be complicated by corporate boundaries, limited communication, tolling schedules, and tolling equipment built with general production capabilities. Communications literally determines the success or failure of the final project. This session will highlight chemists and engineers working together in a tolling environment. Case histories, examples, and best practices will be presented.
